It's becoming a bit of an FAQ: "How much are the puppies?"  The answer is "It depends on quality.  Noone can say yet, without a TARDIS. They are only now leaving the whelping box, having only just learned to see and walk."  Another FAQ is "Can you provide more information?"  That answer is "Yes."  It would be helpful if the inquiry is specific - information about what?  I've done my best to put everything but the kitchen sink up here, or in the 'blog, but if I've missed anything in particular, go ahead and ask!   Usually when people ask this, the 'specific' question is covered in depth already.

They will be homed at about 8 weeks, so the prime opportunity will be around August 14 to spend the entire weekend integrating with their new household.

The latest news is that they are romping around in the back yard for an hour or two each day, when it's warm enough.    They are very cute to watch, with their high-stepping run (almost a goose-step).  All are active, happy, and outgoing.  They approach and play with Shadow and Finn, but Finn knows better than to approach them when She Who Must Be Obeyed is around.  I'm also pleased to report that everyone has shown an immediate interest in red meat, and in lapping at the Biolac bowl - so when Gemma decides enough is enough and wants to wean them, they are prepared for it.

B3 seems to be on target to go to a Breeder/Show home, contingent on his attributes developing 'on program' :)

G1 is a special girl, who is likely to stay with us at this point, or go to another breeder/show home.  B2 and B1 have been pencilled in also, but anything can happen, so I need contingency plans to cater for any eventuality.  They need the best possible homes with the best chance at reaching their potential.  If I had 20 girls like Heather, I'd probably still disappoint quite a few people!  Gemma and Finn have outdone themselves this time.  Time will tell if the potential is realised.  They will definitely be doing a repeat mating in 18-24 months!  Gemma needs a rest, and time for her career.  I am aware of another litter with one 'pet' girl available at this time, sired by Finn's litter-brother Sonny.  I'll be happy to provide contact details on request.  Heather's fate was pretty much sealed by 48 hours - to one of two households :)

The names are still a work in progress.  Any suggestions are welcome.  Many of the names I'm thinking of are related to chivalry or jewels (for obvious reasons, given their parents' pedigree names.)  B3's suggestion was from Edwina :)

Here is a spread from Edwina at Border Pix'n'Art  taken at five weeks - more later.  Presented at full size, for a change!

Group Hug, everyone!

There will be another shoot at  6 weeks... and if time and technology permit...  EweTube videos of their antics!  Can't resist that pun! :)

It's going to be really hard to say goodbye to these kids!
